Sonia Mirbaha is the Principal Advisor at SMB Legal Advisors. She has been a licensed paralegal with the Law Society of Ontario since 2009, with extensive experience in immigration matters, particularly in the area of corporate mobility and assisting businesses with their international workforce needs. In 2026, Sonia completed Master of Law program (LLM) at the Henry Jackman Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, with a focus on data law, privacy, health information governance, and the legal and regulatory dimensions of artificial intelligence. She now advises startups and businesses on AI governance frameworks and compliance alongside her legal services practice. Sonia has supported numerous corporations in facilitating the entry of senior executives, specialized knowledge workers, and business visitors to Canada. She brings a practical, client-centred approach to every matter she handles. In addition, Sonia Mirbaha brings both legal training and hands on board experience to this work, currently serving in board positions across the technology and innovation sectors, providing strategic oversight on governance and emerging technology matters.
